AmCham, in collaboration with DHL Moldova and the United States Peace Corps, organized the first annual "Christmas Collection Project." The main goal of the project was to collect clothes, books, and toys for two orphanages in Moldova that were in need of assistance: the Municipal Orphanage of Chisinau and the Boarding School for Children with Disabilities in Ialoveni.The first delivery of goods donated by AmCham Members, DHL|s Clients, and the United States Peace Corps| partners, was delivered to the the Municipal Orphanage of Chisinau on Saturday, December 15, 2007.A total of 18 large shipping-grade bags of clothes and toys, 6 boxes of books, and three cases of juice was given to the orphanage. The next delivery of toys to the Boarding School for Children with Disabilities in Ialoveni, will be very soon.We would like to thank the following members of AmCham for participating in this project: CNFA Moldova, Eurasia Foundation, McDonald|s Restaurants, Natur Bravo, S&T, and Sun Communications.You helped brighten the holiday season for more than 100 children so far, and with the next delivery of goods fast approaching this project will benefit over 150 children.
