Update on Amendments to the Labor Code

On July 21, the Parliament has voted in both readings the law amending 36 articles of the Moldovan Labor Code. This law was drafted by the Working Group under the Prime-minister's Economic Council, with the participation of AmCham Moldova, having the aim to modernize employment legislation and contribute to the development of national labor market.


The draft law modifying 36 articles of the Moldovan Labor Code is included on the agenda of the Parliament’s plenary hearing for July 21. Earlier in the week, the document has been approved by the Parliamentary Committee on social protection, healthcare and family, in first reading at committee level.

This draft law has been elaborated by the Working Group under the Prime-minister’s Economic Council with the participation of AmCham Moldova.


After having participated in the drafting of a law providing a series of amendments for the Labor Code, AmCham continues to advocate and raise awareness for the need to modernize labour legislation. AmCham participated in public hearings held by parliamentary committees, expressing support for the draft law and militating for a balanced development of regulations.
