AmCham Meets the Prime-Minister

On Wednesday, July 29, AmCham Moldova representatives were invited to meet Mr. Valeriu Strelet, the nominated candidate for the position of the Prime-minister of RM.

The meeting was also attended by Dumitru Alaiba, Head of the PM Economic Council Secretariat and Mr. Anatol Arapu, acting Minister of Finance.

Mr. Strelet has shared with the participant business associations his concerns about the current economic situation and business environment in the country, but also has he voiced his plans to redress the situation.

Participant Board members on behalf of AmCham Moldova, Cristina Harea and John Maxemchuk, presented to the Candidate AmCham document on Recommendations for improvement of business climate. With regret, John and Cristina had to raise multiple concerns of the business community related to the slow pace of reforms, lack of economic growth, high corruption and shadow economy, and disastrous situation in financial sector.

Prime-minister has assured business associations that the dialogue between the Cabinet and private sector will continue to reach best results in over passing the critical moment.
