Simplified customs procedures discussed by Customs authorities and business representatives

On September 26, the Customs Service held a roundtable attended by over 20 AmCham and light industry representatives.
The meeting began with an overview of the simplified customs procedures. Following the presentation, the discussions were focused on the facilitation of international traffic of goods. The participants were encouraged to express their views on the customs regulations referring to granting the status of credible business. The business representatives have come up with some proposals on Regulation on simplified customs procedures such as a) exclusion of the expertise act required by the authorities within the customs regime, b) credible business status recognition both by the public authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, c) active promotion of the liberalization benefits offered by the Customs Service.
