On November 20, as a part of its’ Thanksgiving season, AmCham Moldova marked the important American holiday of Thanksgiving at the AVA 1727 Restaurant. A holiday where gratitude and thankfulness is shown abundantly to one another, Thanksgiving not only presented AmCham with an opportunity to demonstrate gratitude to its members but to also welcome the new US Ambassador to Moldova, H.E. Mr. Dereck J. Hogan.

The Luncheon was opened by AmCham Chief Executive Mila Malairau, who warmly welcomed members and His Excellency to the luncheon; followed by a speech by AmCham President Veronica Malcoci who highlighted the importance of gratitude. H.E. Mr. Dereck J. Hogan was then introduced to the AmCham Members present, who gave a speech presenting his credentials as Ambassador and the goals of the current US approach to Moldova; as well as outlining his family’s Thanksgiving traditions.

As part of today’s Thanksgiving celebrations, AmCham displayed its gratitude to the members of the first CACIC Steering Committee, Roger Gladei, Charles Vernon, Octavian Cazac, Vladimir Iurkovski and Marin Chicu who played a monumental role in helping to establish the Arbitration Court. Each were presented with a box of commemorative CACIC themed chocolates. AmCham also recognized and thanked the recently ascended members of the new, current Steering Committee - Roger Gladei, George Teodorescu, Bogdan Plesuvescu, Daniel Cobzac and Sergiu Bivol.

The event was also tinged with a slight sadness as it was announced that AmCham’s Sergiu Chirica would be moving onto pastures new. Sergiu Chirica was thanked and presented with a small token of appreciation, for all his hard work and contributions to AmCham.

AmCham would like to thank Event Sponsor Vernon David and Event Partner AVA 1727 for helping to make the AmCham family’s Thanksgiving 2018 a memorable one.
