Updates on the Wastewater Legal Framework

  • 27.10.2017

On October, 27, AmCham participated in a meeting conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment regarding the legal framework on wastewater evacuation and treatment.

The participants have agreed to work on a methodology for calculating prices on sewage services rendered by SA Apa-Canal Chisinau for treating wastewater that exceeds the maximum allowable concentrations.

It was decided that such a methodology should be approved by a normative act and not merely a decision of the service provider, in order to ensure predictability and transparency for all parties involved.

Last week, AmCham participated in a meeting conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment regarding the legal framework on wastewater evacuation and treatment, as well as the methodology for calculating differentiated fees for sewage services rendered by SA Apa-Canal Chisinau.

The official launch of a ministerial Working Group is expected in the upcoming weeks, having the task to perform a systemic analysis of legislation in the area and to elaborate necessary amendments.
