AmCham Calls for Rectifications in Draft Educational Materials on Generic Drugs

  • 02.09.2016

AmCham has voiced its concerns regarding the potentially misleading content of the informative brochures drafted by the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency on the subject of generic and innovative drugs. In this, attention has been drawn to a series of inaccurate affirmations that are not backed either by statistical data or by adequate research and, hence, need to be rectified with a view to inform the consumer in an impartial and objective manner.

The potential benefits of conducting an educational campaign to boost generics consumption have also been questioned, having in mind that generic drugs already constitute 80% of the medicines registered in the Republic of Moldova. As a result, there seems to be a lack of compelling reasons to invest public resources in providing support for this market segment through dissemination of printed informative material.
