New Simplified Customs Procedures
Members of the Trade and Manufacturing Committee are working on the Governmental Decision Draft on the implementation of the provisions of Section 271 of the simplified customs procedures and Section 282 on Authorized Economic Agents, of the Customs Code of the Republic of Moldova (http://customs.gov.md/index.php?id=4076).
This Draft GD aims at applying European Union rigors regarding customs simplifications in local legislation and refers to: simplified declaration of goods, incomplete declaration of goods and home clearance. Also, it describes the procedure for obtaining the status of Authorized Economic Agent, the benefits and the responsibilities.
While discussing the Draft many questions arose from our members, which is why the BRITE program, in collaboration with AmCham, established a meeting with Customs Service Representatives on Monday, June 2, 2014.
