MOLDCELL – general partner of the ICT+ International conference MOLDCELL celebrated the World Telecommunication Day on May 17th, together with other institutions of the sector. This anniversary also marked the beginning of the Information and Communication Technologies Week (May 18-22, 2009), organized by the Ministry of Information Development and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM) here in Chisinau. The ICT+ International conference is one of the most attractive events of the week, because on this occasion specialists from the field of information and communication technologies meet and discuss a big variety of subjects that are directly connected to their professional activity. This time, the ICT+ conference took place at the Central Scientific Library of ASM “Andrei Lupan” and was divided into four compartments (ICT+ science, ICT+ citizen, ICT+ government and ICT+ business). Having introduced 12 technologies in Moldova, all of which appeared for the first time on the market at the moment of their launch, Moldcell consolidated its status of leader in implementing advance technologies. This way, the company makes its contribution to the development of the country’s telecommunication infrastructure, expanding the range of possibilities available to the population and providing new platforms for the development of other businesses. Even the fact that MOLDCELL supports the ICT+ conference the forth year in a row, being the general partner of the event, proves that our good intentions are always accompanied by concrete and efficient actions. The First Vice Prime-minister of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, the president of the Academy of Sciences, Gheorghe Duca, the vice-minister Oleg Rotaru, MOLDCELL general manager, Chiril Gaburici and other outstanding personalities of the ICT sector were present at the conference launch. During the ceremony, the vice-president of ASM, Mr. Ion Tighineanu, thanked our company for the support, mentioning that the operator’s contribution “represents a vote of confidence that MOLDCELL gives to the Moldovan researchers of the ICT field and to the initiatives of modernization and technological progress in Moldova”. One of the principles our company follows is sharing the large information and experience we have with our stakeholders. Therefore, Fuad Musayev, MOLDCELL Marketing manager, participated at the section “I+ Business” of the conference with a report called “The role of mobile operators in the development of electronic payments”. Mr. Musayev talked about a project that allows MOLDCELL clients to appreciate the new possibility of account refill by means of the international system Ezetop. The new solution enables people situated in any part of the world to refill the mobile accounts of MOLDCELL clients (natural persons) who are in Moldova or in Roaming. The Information and Communication Technologies Week ended on Friday, May 22, with an award ceremony of the competition “ICT-Moldova with the journalist pen”. Mass-media representatives who won the contest – Sergey Moiseev, “Economiceskoe obozrenie. Logos Press” newspaper, Stanislav Vijga, “NIT” TV channel and Andrei Ghilan, “Business Class” journal – received prizes on behalf of MOLDCELL company.
