The Agricultural Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project (ACED), funded by the U.S. Government, has published an End Market Study for Fresh and Dried Fruits in Germany.

Germany is the European Union’s biggest importer and the largest European consumer of all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables. No Moldovan fresh produce is sold on the German market at present. The goal of this End Market Study is to enable Moldovan fruit value-chain participants (producers, packers, consolidators, and others) to get a better understanding of the market for their products in Germany and the requirements for entering that market. The products included in this EMS are fresh apples, table grapes, peaches, plums, sweet cherries, tomatoes, shelled walnuts and dried plums.

The report is now available in English and will be soon translated into Romanian. ACED also has published studies on the fresh and dried-fruits markets in Moldova, Romania, Russia, and the Baltic Countries.
